It all depends on how much you value your time and/or data. I will tell
you this, though. Sooner or later, if you don't take all the steps you can
to safeguard your systems, you *will* regret it. A UPS is belt and braces,
but sometimes one of the two will fail and your trousers will fall down..!

If it's just data, then possibly. I lost half the system files of a very
important program that was involved in networking together several other
machines across the country. Data flow on the link was out for three days.
As I said, never again.
Your risk, your decision, but don't blame me if you make the wrong one.
