Hi All,
I installed Fedore core one today and I have a problem with the network
card. I have another hard drive which I can swap, where I have Redhat 9. In
Redhat the network doesn't have any problems.
I configured manually the IP, mask and gateway and I activated the
interface. I am able to ping the IP for Fedora computer, but not the gateway
or the other computer in the network. I was reading on the internet and
somebody advised to disable kudzu, which I did, but still no change.
The ethernet is a 3Com 3C590...3Cx980. Apparently there are some other users
with same card who had problems with Fedora.
During the installation there were some problems with one of my cd units,
and I had to swap to the second one. But I didn't get any error messages
after I retried to read the cd a few times.
If I try to use DHCP, I get this error: SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign
requested address
Any ideas? Are there any differences between networking components under
Redhat and Fedora?
Regards,
Nicolae
