You can use any of the two options depending on the type of catalyst switch
that you are using to connect the ipphones.Second option was used more with
older 3500 XL series switches where you had to define the port as a trunk ,
the first option is used with the newer switches like 3560 ,3650. In any
case this port is a special type of  801.q trunk in the first case as well.
when you issue the command sh int switchport you can see that it is working
like a trunk.
