Hello,
I have machine that I broguth up on RH 7.1 but I cannot seem to
acces it across my SOHO network. I have cable modem access coupled to a
Linksys wireless router. I have a PC(XP) with wireless card and I have
the RH system plugged directly into one of the the 4 router LAN ports.
During install I set the network parameters to the same settings that my
PC(XP) has (i.e. gateway, broadcast, IP). I can ping the PC from RH and
ping the RH system from the PC. However, I cannot Telnet, FTP or start
any Xwindows traffic between the two. The RH system can surf the
Internet through the router just like the PC can. I have Telnet and ftp
enabled and can telnet anf ftp from the RH system to itself so those
services are available. When I try to telnet to the RH system from the
PC I get the message " Could not open connecto host on port 23. A socket
operation encountered a dead network"

PC IP 192.168.1.100 (obtained from DHCP on router)
PC GW 192.168.1.1 (obtained from DHCP on router)
Broad 255.255.255.0 (obtained from DHCP on router)

RH IP 192.168.1.110 (assigned at install)
RH GW 192.168.1.1 (assigned at install)
Broadcast 255.255.255.0 (assigned at install)

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank You!!

Nicholas
