Hello, everyone! Happy new year and holiday to those who celebrate.

I'm working on setting up an Ubuntu 6.10 install on a laptop, and for
some reason, I can't get SSH to init at all. It spits out no warning,
just simply fails when I try to start the service with proper
permissions to do so. If there's a log file I'm missing out on, or any
ideas from those willing to help, I'll provide any more necessary info
or try anything. I haven't run into this problem at all, and my
google-fu isn't strong enough for finding this out on my own it seems.

Thanks for taking the time!

Try to reconfigure package with "dpkg-reconfigure -plow package-name"

Also have a look in /usr/share/doc/package-name/ for ducumentation.
And you could also have a look into /etc/defaults/package-name

Good luck
