I want to update to Firefox 2 although in Synaptic Manager the only
version is 1.5 something. If I want to update to version 2. Would it be
crafty and wise to change the sources.list file to update to edgy
rather than dapper and then I should I assume get the option to update
to Firefox version 2. From what I gather edgy's repos have this option.
So I guess what I'm asking is can I fool dapper into getting edgy repos
and get the firefox upgrade through apt-get firefox? Obviously I would
have to update the repos once I changed the sources.list file.

Or is this all highly dangerous???

For a self-confessed noob it could be highly dangerous.

If you really want FF 2.0 you best bet is probably to remove the ubuntu
version and get the latest download from Mozilla and install that
instead. This way you have the added advantage of getting updates
automatically from Mozilla.
