I have IIs6.0 running with three different domain names. I understand IIS ha
s
an SMTP mail capabilities, but not as a POP3 server. What are people using
for their POP3 server if they do not have an Exchange Server?

There are some free ones available.

http://smartertools.com (free for one domain)

Oh and Windows 2003 has a built-in POP3 component. I completely forgot

I can give an opinion on 2K3's POP3 server... It works, it is *very*
simple, and unlike most of the stuff MSFT puts in there, is relatively
easy to setup and maintain! Backups are a snap!
