Does anyone know how to get rid of the /Pages context for servering
pages in a WCM site? I would think the "pages" path could be removed,
but I can't seem to locate where this would be done.

Every public MOSS WCM site I have visited uses the
http://mysite.com/Pages/default.aspx syntax. Is it possible to use
just the http://mysite.com/default.aspx context??

When customers are performing analytics, the constant appearance of the
/pages path with in reports can get quite annoying. Path analysis can
also get difficult. I'm sure someone else has asked this question, but
I can't seem to locate any answers.

Thanks in advanced.

Tony Jones

This is because Pages Library enables the content management features on the
site. Without it , it wont be a publishint site.

Then how come www.microsoft.com doesn't have "Pages" in its URL?

It's supposed to be using MOSS 07 right?

Hi Kiko,

www.microsoft.com is not a sharepoint server.

Cheers,
Stefan
