Hi All

I am trying to evaluate usage of MS BizTalk as a translator to
translate EDI to XML and XML docs into EDI can you please share your
ideas how good and robust is BizTalk for this.

Are there any other better tools for this than BizTalk.

Thanks
Belinda

Hi,

I had same problem 2 weeks ago. BizTalk 2004 is great tool, but... in EDIFAC
T it supports only few standars schemas. You can not add new schemas. You mu
st buy full Covast EDI Accelerator, which costs few thousend of dollars.
because of I do not need now full functionality of BTS (only messaging and translating)
I decided to use xtranslator. Visit www.xtranslator.com It contains all EDI
FACT schemas! Of course has some disadventages, but it is your choice.
If ypu will star to test xtranslator and have some interesting comments, ple
ase let me now.

Personnally, I think Biztalk is one of the most interesting tools Microsoft
provided the EAI/B2B software industry.
I I used 2 other tools, but since 2001, it is the plateform of the group for
all EAI/b2b operations. Sure, you need maybe some time to learn all what
BizTalk offers.
One thing I should mention and don't know if somebody can help me, while
sending EDI files, I found no way to send several EDIFACT messages in one
interchange.

Support for outbound EDI batching is not included in the box of any of the
BizTalk releases. This kind of functionality can be found in a 3rd party
accelerator like one from Covast (www.covast.com).
