Hi,

My linux server is giving me the following errors -- this server has been
running for several months and these errors just started to show up sometime
yesterday.

When I log in as root and attempt to issue an ls command I receive the
following:

bash:  /bin/ls:  Input/output error

If I try to create a file using  echo 'abc' > testfile  I get the following
error:

bash: testfile: Read-only file system

If I try and issue a restart  (shutdown -r now)

Nothing happens, no errors either.

Any ideas what may have happened to my server?
