Guys, I just wanted to let everyone know my company has just released 3
utilities we had as internal products into the wild which can be used for
FREE (yes as in beer)
The utilities are :
* Phone Remote
(allows you to take control of a phone, send keys and view the screen
remotely)
* Background Deployment tool
(allows you to push a screen background to 7941/7961/7970/7971 phones)
* Ring Tone Deployment tool
(allows you to push a default ring tone to many phone models)
The utilities can be downloaded at www.voipintegration.com/software.htm
Please let us know what you think of them.

Hi John!
Thank you very much for that info. I was looking forward to have some of
these tools especially the Phone Remote sounds interesting for me.
But when I run the Phone Remote and fill in the phone's IP address and
credentials I will get an error "Connection timeout". I tried to sniff the
network traffic and it looks like your application is trying to contact the
phone with its HTTP interface. I wonder why I got that error message because
there was normal HTTP traffic between the ip phone and your application. The
prone (7960) runs SCCP firmware and it's registered to CCM 4.0
I have here another IP Phone (7040) running SIP firmware and AFAIK there is
no HTTP interface in SIP and MGCP firmware. But in the documentation for the
Phone Remote I've found that it has also support for SIP firmware as well as
SCCP with CCM. So how does it manage phones with SIP firmware? And what to
fill in into the "username" box I am trying to connect to my SIP Phone?
Thank you.
Best regards,
Jozef Janitor

Jozef, thanks for working with us to find and fix this, we found an issue
communicating with some firmware versions of the 7940 and have posted a
patched version online now.
Sorry to everyone who has already downloaded Phone Remote, the issue was
only with some 7940's but if you run into it the fixed version is posted
now.
Thanks to the list for so many positive comments back, we hope you find our
tools useful.

Just to let you know John, came across an issue with it where I was trying
to take control of a 7960 on a 4.2 cluster. I keep getting told that the
phone needs to be associated with the user id I am using. It is
associated. Don't know if you have any quick suggestions on this issue. It
sounds like it is a great tool and I would love to get it working for me as
I have used a similar tool in the past. Thanks and have a great weekend.

I love the idea of the tool also..... any way of making it a little more
real time? I've seen tools like this in the past that were a little
faster.

I need one that shows what keys the user is pressing. When troubleshooting F
AC problems, the keys pressed show up as asterisks and I need to follow thei
r fat fingers as they press 3 instead of 8 because they spilled beer on thei
r paper. ;)

Just to let the list know... and if anyone else is having trouble with phone
remote
This problem was caused by the phone Auth URL using the call manager name
which it could not resolve by the phone, changing the Auth URL in Enterprise
parameters or on the individual phone gets it going.
Cheers
John
