Ajay,
You can create catalog expression based on product variant ID. So the answer
to your question is yes, you have a choose to create discount to base
product (discount is based on catalog expression on base product ID only) or
create discount to product variant (use catalog expression which is on
product variant ID).

Hi
I have a product with 2 variants. Does it possible to define different
promotions on different variants? or its possible only base product?
Any help will be appreciated
