This is NO joke. As my listeners well know by now, I got into a
rather nasty feud with Figure Skating Universe (FSU), a couple of
months ago, and did get banned. I tried to sneak back on, for the
remainder of the season, using Tor, to mask my IP address, and tried to
re-subscribe using one of these "throwaway" prepaid Mastercards you can
purchase at your local corner drugstore. It actually took a couple of
tries before FSU would let me register a screen name without being
banned. "MrSpit" and "LiberalTalkHost" were banned in one case, and had
the application manually rejected by the admins on the other case, but
the third try, "Scooby" was allowed, until I tried to re-subscribe,
that is when I got banned (again). "MrSpit" was the on-air name of a
rather raunch shock jock on the East Coast in the early 90s, and
"LiberalTalkHost", I chose on one attempt becuase I do have my own
radio talk show that leans liberal on many issues.
Lo and behold, I go to log this morning, and find that account was
banned. The only POSSIBLE way that FSU could have known WHO it was,
would have been to crack Tor. Prepaid Mastercards are designed so that
you purchase it, use it until the credit on it is used up, then you cut
it up and throw it in the rubbish bin. The way that PayPal works, only
PayPal is supposed to have the card numbers, and then ONLY long enough
for the transaction to go through, and then PayPal usually destroys the
infornation. That is why PayPal is considered one of them safest
payment methods on Earth.
It would appear that both Tor, and prepaid Mastercards, and NOT as
anonymous as you might think they are. Either Tor, MasterCard, or
Rite-Aid (where I purhcased that prepaid Mastercard) would had to have
been cracked in order FSU to know it was me. the only POSSIBLE way that
they could have know that it was ME, who tried to resubscribe, was to
have cracked Tor. There is no other POSSIBLE way they could have known.
The lesson here is that Tor is NOT as anonymous as you think it
is. It CAN be cracked, and I think that is how Figure Skating Universe
figured out it was me.

That would not have been possible. I thought of that, and before
attempeting to sneak back in. I wiped out and reinstalled Windows, and
all my programs, to get rid of any and all cookies on my computer. They
would not have been able to determine anything, from any cookies. And I
went even further doing a session with Evidence Eliminator set at the
maximum level of destruction. There is no POSSIBLE way that any cookies
from a previous session could have been detected.
And as for detecting a previous credit card number? First, only
PAYPAL has the number, it just forwards the money to whomever is
receiving payment. Also, that prepaid Mastercard was purchased less
than an hour, before it was used to attempt to sneak back in. I popped
into the corner drugstore and purchased it, activated it, and was using
it in less than an hour. So it would not be in any "blacklist" of
credit card numbers, since the thing had only been purchased from the
local corner drugstore only an hour earlier. For FSU to refund my
money, I had to go to the PayPal web site, and follow their
instructions to get the money refunded back to my card.

I don't think so, the way I did it. I use the Socks proxy in Tor,
and shoved it down SocksCap. Soi the only IP they would be able to get
is the IP of the Tor server that is being used. Socks, if you can use
it, is much more impervious to such attacks. All one has to do to use
Tor with SocksCap is to add Internet Explorer (or whatever browser you
are using) to the program list, right click, and then select "Run
Socksified!". SocksCap then handle all the traffic between you, and
whatever server you are using.

There's no socks proxy in Tor, Tor IS a socks proxy.

You got banned over and over because youre a dickhead. I've never seen
your posts before but even I can tell. No anonymous network can fix
you, you'll always be you, and people will always be able to pick you
out in a crowd because of the way you act and the stupid things you do.

For the record, 'scooby' is in fact an alias for one Charles "chuckie"
Newman, a well known net-kook who has infested the skating newsgroups for
over a decade. His speciality is posting false information about skaters
performing in non-existent skating contests in various commie dictatorships
like Cuba or North Korea. Often he will mis-spell skater's names e.g. "Nicol
e
Bobeck" instead of the correct spelling, "Bobek", and give them false
nationalities, such as claiming that Tonya Harding comes from Australia.
Typically he publishes these lies in various e-zines with names like
Tasmanian Devil, Hatchet Job, etc that purport to come from Australia but ar
e
actually all posted from Sacramento, which is where he really lives.

One of his favorite tactics is to post something erroneous to a whole pile o
f
newsgroups but set the followup so that the replies only go to
alt.skate.figure, a junk group that he has created and which hardly anybody
reads. This means that any replies he receives questioning his "facts"
effectively go in the trash can and are never seen by anybody, so his
assertions appear to be unchallenged on the real groups that he originally
posted to. That's why he gets so upset about people restore the original
newsgroups.

Other hallmarks of his handiwork include:

- use of the "X-NoArchive" header in a lame attempt to hide his tracks;

- persistent references to spanking female skaters (apparently he also
hangs out on the spanking newsgroups);

- allegations that a marine stole his girlfriend;

- constant complaints about how "the religous right" is after him;

- bizarre interpretations of U.S. constitutional law;

- liberal doses of technical gobbledegook relating to anonymous servers;

- a love of cartoon characters, particularly Warner Bros (Daffy Duck, Wile E
Coyote, etc).

How do I know who he is? Probably the same way that the FSU admins know who
he is - by years of seeing his drivel posted all over the place. No need for
any top-secret hacking at all.

ChuckiePostDetector(tm) has detected a Charles Newman post, do not
regard as being a part of our reality.

No, its not what you, and Terry, think it is. It is a REAL long
story, that goes back to 3rd. December.
As you know, coming from the broadcast groups, and as people from
rssis and asf know, I own and operate my own online radio station,
which actually does a variety of programming.
It is NOT any of the stuff that Terry mentions later down in this
thread, becuase I rarely, if ever, posted in any of the forums. What
happened was one of the admins there got a bug up her/her XXX, just
becuase I run an online radio station. I rarely, if ever, posted in the
forums. I was banned, just becuase I own and operate an online radio
station, thats it.

The trouble is there were TWO Charles Newmans at Sac State, in the
mid 1990s (From 1994 to 1997 the "campus white pages" would return two
hits from any query on "Charles Newman". One was IT/Computer Science,
the other one was physics/astronomy. I am the latter, which is where my
interest in skating comes from, becuase skating is a good example of
physics in action. We actually watched some skating videos, as part of
one course. That is probably at least some part of my problem at FSU,
being fhat "Charles Newman" is such a common name. I think that ANYONE
with the name of "Charles Newman" is going to be automatically banned
at FSU.
There is a lot of physics in skating. It was also this one
professor that SAID, for example, that Tonya Harding was born in
AUSTRALIA. The professor SAID that Tonya was born in Australia, and it
was even an exam question once. Those that marked "Portland, Oregon"
were marked as WRONG, but if you marked "Queeenstown, Tasmania", you
were marked correct. The correct answer on that exam was "November 16,
1970, Queensland, Australia". Since that was the CORRECT answer on a
physics exam once, then Tonya MUST have been born on and at that
particular date and place.
Same thing with Nicole Bobeck. Those that marked the answer for
Chicago were marked wrong, but those that marked the anwer for
Launceston, Tasmania, were marked corrrect. Nicole was born in
AUSTRALIA, because this one college professor SAID SO.
Also the same things with Jennifer Robinson and Cristi
Yamaguchi. The professor SAID that Jen was born in Australia, so it
MUST be so. The professor had also SAID that Cristi was born in MEXICO,
so it MUST be so.
From my studies of physics, I can say that skaters have about the
limit in jumping ability that any human can do. I dont think you will
see anything more difficult than a quad jump. The ONLY way that ANY
skater could POSSIBLY do anything more than that, is if they to
suddenly allow performance-enhancing drugs, and pigs will fly before
that ever happens.

> performing in non-existent skating contests in various commie dictatorship

Worlds ARE in Pyongyang, in just a little over two months from now.

Often he will mis-spell skater's names e.g. "Nicole

Nicole Bobeck is from Launceson, Tasmania, AUSTRALIA, where she was
born in December of 1975. Got it? Good.

> nationalities, such as claiming that Tonya Harding comes from Australia.

Tonya was BORN in Queenstown, Tasmania (Thats in AUSTRALIA!!!!!).
She became an American citizen in 1993, and was on the USA team for one
season, until she was booted in 1994, for her involvement in the plot
to whack Nancy Kerrigan. She was Gilloolly in 1990, and became a USA
citizen in 1993.

That is a recent affectation. I had to do that, becuase one person
in a recent flamewar, who likes to chase me around the net, started a
flamewar so NASTY with me, a little over a year ago, that is pissed
off, and I mean PISSED OFF, some people on the broadcasting newsgroups,
so I use X-No-Archive, so that he will be less likely to find me with
Google Groups.

>

Well, consider this, I am not NEARLY as bad as some people I have
had to boot out of my spanked figure skaters chat room. While I agree
that Nicole, Tonya, and maybe Oksana need it, there are some Canadian
spankos who get in on the action. Just in case these assholes are
reading now, I want to say this:

READ MY FAQ!!!!

Robinson, Jennifer Leigh
DOB: 17 Decmeber 1977 Geelong, Victoria (That's in AUSTRALIA,
meatheads!!!!)

Bronze medallist at the first Commonwealth Winter Games in 1997.
3-Time Australian and 5-time Canadian naitonal champion.

Hawker, Lesley
DOB: 22 May 1980 Slack Creek, Queensland (That's in AUSTRALIA,
meatheadss!!!!)

Bronze medalist at the 2007 Winter Commonwealth Games, and 2-time
bronze at Canadian nationals.

>

That really DID happen, though I have kept silent about that since,
9/11, to avoid problems with the American goveernment.

>
> - constant complaints about how "the religous right" is after him;

That is NO BULLSHIT!!!! In "Hatchet Job", we did publish a
less-than-flattering commentary on one of the supporters of the
Communications Decency Act (CDA), Cathy Cleaver, the then Director Of
Legal Studies for the Family Researcg Council, back in December of
1995. I got a NASTY Email a few days later telling me that the case was
being handed over to the US Attorney in Roanoake, for prosecution, just
for criticising the US government.
>
> - bizarre interpretations of U.S. constitutional law;

And now there is yet ANOHTER bill, to be introduced soon, that
will REALLY stomp on free speech. One bill by Sen. McCain, and backed
by the Relgious Right, would among other things, impose SEVERE
penalties on message board owners, who allow ANYTHING "offensive" to be
posted.
If THIS bill ever becomes law, GoldenSkate and FSU would BOTH
have to close up shop, as well as every other message board around the
world. They would either have to do that, or put in some kind
technological measures to keep anyone in America from viewing the site.
Under the bill, site owners can be fined up to $300,000, and imprisoned
for up to 10 YEARS, for allowing ANYTHING to be said on their boards
that the US government does not like. The Religious Right is trying to
STAMP OUT free speech by introducing this bill, some times during the
110th Congress, that will force EVERY message board, worldwide, to shut
down.
