it looks like php automatically escapes those characters, Eel. It's nothing
 you did.

http://www.peachpit.com/articles/ar...4&seqNum=4&rl=1

\"PHP will automatically escape special characters entered into HTML. This i
s helpful when sending data back to the browser (as in this example where th
e quotation marks would interfere with the print() statement if not for bein
g escaped) and when enterin
g it into databases.\"

I don't know php at all, but if you can print() to a stream and then use th
at output, you should be in good shape. Else, you'd need your own code to u
nescape (which might be as simple as deleting all backslashes, except for th
e special case of double-ba
ckslashes: where you'd delete only one.)

Thanks. If I have to, I should be able to run it through some code to
remove them.

I'm sure we're all thrilled at getting a new thread every time someone
posts from eel's web thingy, but how about keeping all this stuff to
the same thread? You know, common courtesy and all that.

Since Eel is accused by Thomas (also using anon sock puppets) of editing
text, then the source of the escaped characters, as well as the solution,
is a very germaine topic and is also separate from other threads about the
W2N

You also had a poster demanding that source be published. All of this goes
to credibility - or alternatively, to safety.

Besides, the whole topic injects something fresh into this group, which has
been otherwise empty except for the misplaced rantings of looney
Boschloo/deJoode and the MI5 looney and the skating looney.

At the same time, anyone is free to simply ignore (or filter) any post with
'Eel' in the subject.
