Hello
Which debian did you use? If you installed architecture i386, you
can't use amd64-kernel to run your binary driver (what I know of, any
way. Same problem as you). You need to install amd64 architecture of
Debian for that. No, you don't need to download prestine linux
kernel, you should be able to use the one in Debian. 2.6.18 is really
quite new. But here you can finde some information about building your
own kernel: http://kernel-handbook.alioth.debian.org/
Any wawy, search at wiki.debian.org for nVidia and you will get a
realy good wiki page on different ways to install nVidia X11 driver.
*searching* Here you have: http://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphi...>
%28nVidia%29
And you should really use Debian/Etch instead of Debian/Sarge, Etch
has suport for SATA disks. Sarge is getting soooo old and Etch sooooo
close to release.
