    Problems Accessing From a Remote Site

Hello all

My company works with a client who runs MS Content Management Server to
manage a number of company web sites.

Our company works with them by accessing first their network via RSA SecurID
and then the staging server via another dedicated password for our company.

All has worked well for a number of years up until last week.

We now find that we can get into the CMS, but when we 'Switch to Edit Site'
and/or 'Edit' a number of key elements seem not to download to our browser a
s
they always did and prevent us from going any further.

The main elements are the 'Web Author' toolbars (which sit above editable
areas on a prescribed web template) and content already added to these areas
(graphics and HTML text) which simply do not download.

The status bar on our browser shows a file path for these elements but never
seems to finish downloading.

Unfortunately, the clients IT Depart or not particularly helpful with
resolving this problem. They have told us the 'migrated' the server just
prior to us experiencing problems but as of yet haven't provided any info on
what was done during the 'migration'.

Before experiencing problems, all we needed to have installed were the
following:

ncbmprdr.dll
NRDHtml.dll
NRDHtml.inf

We are using XP Pro (SP2) and IE 6.0.

If anyone can offer some help and assistance as to what may be going wrong
we would be very grateful. I am wondering if the 'migration' was actually a
transfer from Content Management Server to Sharepoint and if we need to have
anything additional installed to be able to access and edit the site as
before.

The wierd thing is after we give up with trying to access and edit and
browser to another site, graphics do not seem to show up on these sites -
almost as though a browser setting has been skewed. If we exit IE and
relaunch everything is OK for normal browsing to other sites.

Hi,

please ensure that you have installed the following hotfix and that the DLLs
from this hotfix are used on the client machines:

Just to be clear:

Should WE install this hotfix (as the company accessing the CMS), or should
it be our client (as the company who actually host the CMS)?

Hi,

you have to install it on the MCMS server machine.
After you did this it depends: if you preinstalled the ncbmprdr.dll and
NRDHtml.dll on the client machines you would need to preinstall the new
ones.
If not nothing is required on the client machines.
The clients should download the new version automatically.

Thanks for your help Stefan

I suppose I need to find out if the client has installed this on their MCMS
server.

This is where our problems start, as they don't seem willing (or able) to
answer this one and if they are even aware of the hotfix.

Their own staff, accessing via the company intranet are not having problems,
just my company who is outside the company network.
