Hi everybody,

I'm experiencing a very strange problem here in our staging server.
After importing the whole MCMS enabled site from my Dev environment (a
Virtual Machine running windows server 2003 SP1 and MCMS SP1a) through
the site manager, MCMS stop showing images for all the sites on the
server !
After some trial and error I found that the only thing it refuses to
show are the EXACT match for the  image URL, giving a 404 state code.
What I mean is for example:
If I go to the images properties and cut and paste the url to the
browser bar:

let's say:

http://www.mysite1.com:8099/NR/rdon...>
4pxNews1.jpg

won't work 404 is given.

BUT

if I type any variation of that

let's say:

http://www.mysite1.com:8099/NR/rdon.../>
4pxNews.jpg
or
http://www.mysite1.com:8099/NR/rdon...
4px.jpg
or even
http://www.mysite1.com:8099/NR/rdon.../0/.j
pg

It will DISPLAY the IMAGE, so long it contains a ".jpg" after the last
slash.

Does anybody knows what can be happening on the server, it looks for
me as an caching error but I already reset the memory cache on the SCA
change the setting from global to local and back and forth thousand of
times.
Checked permitions on the "rdonlyres" folder (in fact I see the files
piling up inside the folder when I use one of the variations).

Any hint about this?
Debugging techniques I'm not aware of, black magic spells that might
help? ;-)

Ok it seems that Google groups chops the URLs
so here with break lines.

I believe that it may be something to do with the 'Node Cache'.  Try
clearing the cache using the SCA, and then exporting.
