Hi all,
Can someone tell me where my nntp messages are stored on my server.

I have a the newsserver running on the default nntp server.
I do not have extra Virtual directories defined. If I do however, I am no
longer able to post messages on that newsgroup, even I a give guest all
rights on that map.

These files are located by default in C:\Inetpub\nntpfile\root\NewsGroupName

Steve,
Thansk for replying, but the files are not there,  there is not even a
direcotry with the names of the newsgroups.
Only control\cancel is there.
Any other sugestions?

Create a test newsgroup using IIS manager and then search for the folder
using Windows Search.  Inside IIS Manager > Default NNTP Virtual Server >
Virtual Directories is the location, at least in mine, show where stuff is
stored.   If you are still having issues, look in the event viewer or run
Filemon to see if there are any access denied errors.  I installed NNTP and
was able to create a sample newsgroup and connect to it.  Hope that helps.

Thanks again for your answer.
The newsgroups work pretty well,  but I can not fysicly access the messages
on the server, as they only exsists in the Exchange Server database.
I found that database file (Pub1.EDB) , but it seems you can only access
that database using Exchange (?) and there is no (I cannot find it)
interface for nntp messages. So I cannot remove messages from  the server.
OK, I can send a control message for that, but I like to be able to that on
he server site to.
Any suggestinos for that? Is htere a way to browse/query that database
outside Exchange? or something else?

Try looking in Exchange System Manager.  If nothing is listed.  I'd post
your question on http://msexchange.org or one of the Exchange newsgroups.  I
personally have never used newsgroups in Exchange.

1. Why didn't you say Exchange server in your original post?

2. Of course you can delete NNTP posts from Excahnge server. Trivial.

3. What version of Exchange server?

Been about two years sonce I've used Exchange NNTP, but in Exchange
Manager you can go into the message store and delete messages. I'd do
it all the time to get rid of off-topic, spam, and junk posts.

It is doable, but might take a bit of digging to get to the point.
Took me about an hour to setup the system, find everhthing and have it
working the way I wanted--including the ability to delete posts
directly from the management tool.

I believe you right away, but how? I have been digging for several hours and
I cannot find it.
