Can you browse the site? If yes, is this the case that this is the
first time you have tried to publish since getting the SBS2003?

first time I've tried with SBS2003. This is good I can
browse and debug etc but i need to get pass IIS and
publish to my extrernal web host ie 1and1. Do I stop IIS
and try or I am still missing something. Thanks for help
this far.

Here you seem to be saying that you can publish and browse to sites on
your SBS2003 server. But you can't publish to the external server. I
gather that you have not been able to connect to that external server
yet. Are you sure that your account has been set up? Do you know for
sure that you can browse to the ISP's site on the same server?
