Hi,

I have two servers MCS7835-1266-TD. They're on the list http://www.cisco.com/en/U
S/...cd8062a4f9.html as
being unable to upgrade to 5.0 or 6.0.

Does that mean there is something in the install that won't work? Or will I
just not have support from cisco once I upgrade the servers? Long term I p
robably need a hardware upgrade, but will this upgrade work short term? I h
ave a very low number of phones in use on these servers.

Thanks,

Andy

You have to have a minimum of 2 gig's of ram......... you have to have a
minimum of 72 gig hard drives............. You need a CPU that is twice
the horsepower of a 1266. I would say NO. it just flat out will not
work. Or be supported for that matter.

If you wanted to spend the money on the upgrade I would put it into new
HP servers. (next time I upgrade hw it will not be MCS.... They will be
HP)

Just my 2 cents.

Scott

Hi,

I have two servers MCS7835-1266-TD. They're on the list
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer...ps378/prod_broc

Does that mean there is something in the install that won't
work? Or will I just not have support from cisco once I upgrade the

Agree. The only way to install on a system that does not meet the minimum
spec's mentioned by Scott is to either install on VMware or hack the
installer itself.
