I understand that Koffice runs under KDE interface.
Will it run in Debian Gnome? (It appears in synaptic.)

OK then, I'll give it a go. You're pretty smart...
Say, you wouldn't know the answer to my previous question on THIS group? :

"I was trying to watch a video online and got no sound. My computer does
play CD's, and I set it up to have system event sounds. But I don't know
how to hear an internet video. I'm a newbie. For example:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...052326994067125
"

The most KDE Applications will run under Gnome.

Two points:

1. KOffice will start more slowly in Gnome than in KDE because the KDE
libraries will have to be loaded.

2. You won't get the benefit of integration with other KDE apps.

But otherwise: yes.

Thanks. Then I think I'll skip it.
As mentioned, my current "crisis" is to get audio when a web site offers
it. For example:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?d...052326994067125

Perhaps try Openoffice or the Gnumeric/Abiword suite.

Thanks.
I downloaded Abiword and Gnumeric. They run much faster than OO. I decided
against Koffice.
