Hi There,

I am trying to install the Personalization Component for WebSphere Portal 6.
0 and it's asking me for a DB2 Content Manager installation? Could anyone cl
airfy for me why DB2 CM is required for the Personalization component? If I
am using Oracle as my datab
ase for the Web Content Management repository, then why do I also need DB2 C
M?

Thanks,

R

The DB2 Content Manager "component" that the install is asking you for is
the JCR repository that stores the pzn rules, etc. The JCR is implemented
using the DB2 Content Manager Runtime and is not the full product version
of DB2 CM.

Thanks,

When you refer to JCR, you don't mean the repository used by the Web content
Management piece are you? Because what I would like to do is to use my own
database (Oracle) for the Web Content Management (to store content)... I don
't mind if the Personalizat
ion piece uses DB2 Content Manager runtime tough...

Regards,

Reza
