Dear Expert,

I need to migrate a website from MCMS 2002 to MOSS, but I found that the
build-in approval workflow in MOSS only has 2 levels - author and approver.
In MCMS 2002, we have author, approval and moderator. Since server upgrade
should be transparent to the CMS users, the publishing workflow should be
kept has 3 levels. Hence, I would like to know what is the best practice on
migrating MCMS 2002 workflow to MOSS. Can MOSS support to handle 3 levels
publishing workflow by configuration? Or, I need to build a custom workflow
myself? Please help me. Many Thanks.
Cheers,
RayRay

Hi Ray,

Workflow in MOSS is done with Windows Workflow Foundation Services.
You can configure a multilevel workflow using SharePoint Designer.

Any you can completly customize the workflow using VS.NET.

Cheers,
Stefan

Dear Stefan,

Thanks for your reply. It seems that I cannot use the build-in (standard)
publishing worklow to maintain the MCMS workflow, right?! Moreover, I need
to use either SharePoint Designer or VS.Net to customize workflow and apply
it to every site (channel) in the website. It is too bad that the
migration effort from MCMS 2002 to MOSS is quite large.

Cheers,
Ray
