I understand the logic but with people or places the name is a tag
with the number being what actually gets you there. Adding a name tag
to a phone number is logical (like 'Pete') but not when it entails
registering that information elsewhere else (it's you local shortcut
to a number). I guess making it like a URL is a good 'extension' to
that logic but a bit too much for me to deal with at the moment (I
need to see things working to properly understand them).

But you can do that without that can't you? Like if I call a Sipgate
number from a Sipgate number?

I know it will work but I wondered if there were phones that adapted
to SIP use better, ie had better screens or phonebooks etc?
