'Has to be' John? Is that because you can't put the letters etc in the
'dial' string or simply because the telephone system wouldn't

Ok, that makes sense ..  telephone system > numbers etc.

Well, like most 16yr olds her mobile is probably her first point of
contact (then MSN <g> ) and I'm not sure exactly how many people know
(or use) her land line. I would like to run the two (VoIP <> PSTN)  in
parallel for a while just in case we forget someone who only knows her
landline.

Such things are possible between PSTN and Mobile providers but I don't
know if it would be so for our needs.

Ok. I'm not sure exactly what choice I have re using the Fritz PABX or
not if I want to use the single phone on PSTN or VoIP though?
