Hello,

I have released a new version of Seed7: seed7_05_20070710.tgz

In the Seed7 programming language new statements and operators
can be declared easily. Types are first class objects and therefore
templates/generics need no special syntax. Object orientation is
used when it brings advantages and not in places when other
solutions are more obvious.

Seed7 is covered by the GPL (and LGPL for the Seed7 runtime library).

Changelog:
- The compiler (comp.sd7) support for different C compilers was
improved.
- A support for socket send and recv was added to the compiler.
- A description of openInetSocket was added to the documentation.
- A pos function and the 'not in' operator was added for the type
ref_list.
- The var_conv operator was renamed to varConv.
- Some setters (setCategory, setValue, setParams) were added to
the reflection.
- The classtype of the interpreter was renamed to categorytype
since it has nothing to do with classes.

Greetings Thomas Mertes

Seed7 - The extensible proramming language: User defined statements
and operators, abstract data types, templates without special
syntax, OO with interfaces and multiple dispatch.

Did I ever mention that I don't care?

Did I ever mention that I don't care whether you care?

Your news reader is broken. Consider fixing it if you want to
maintain any credibility.

Maybe you did, maybe not. The fact remains that he's a spammer
polluting newsgroups with adverts for his product. It doesn't make a
difference that it's free; his posts are completely unsolicited and
off-topic at least in comp.unix.programmer. Were someone to ask for a
recommendation for a language with which to solve a specific problem,
he'd be welcome to suggest his creation. That's not the case though.
In fact, I have never seen anyone else mention this language, *ever*,
and a google search for "seed7" returns only a link to the project web
page and a bunch of these announcements on the first result page.
Thus defending such posts as being of general interest isn't going to
work either.

I would presume you had figured it out by now, where your killfile is.

IMHO comp.unix.programmer is on topic. AFAIK the last announcement
about Seed7 in comp.unix.programmer was one month ago. Your mails
create much more traffic than one mail per month.

Additionally: I don't like the idea that some people have to ask
for permission to send mail. This would lead to the question:
Who has to ask for and who gives the permission.

No he isn't a spammer. He is using a proper header now, and
languages are intimately connected with algorithms. If you are
disinterested, plonk or ignore.

It is not that. What matters is you are on-topic.
And in the newsgroups mentioned, I think you are :-)
If you posted to unrelated newsgroups, that would be spam.
