Does anyone know of any good alternatives to BackupExec or Brightstor?

We find that backupexec 11d is horribly slow backing up data that has
alot of small files (gigabytes worth, say 700).. taking 15 or more
hours.

Acronis does the job in 5 hours...

But this isnt my primary motivator for moving to another backup
solution...

I have the data backed up onto the backup servers HDD array, I would
like to simply export this to tape each night, but not have to make a
backup of a backup in doing so.

Are there any good alternatives that may be able to do our network
backup (exchange data too) to the backup server and then the tape
portion?

Anyone know if the new Microsoft DPM will do this type of "copy" to
tape? I have the beta but haven't gotten around to fully using it
yet..

This software would need to be run on x64 2003 as well.

Thanks for any ideas
