Sony is terminating manufacturing and development of SAIT drives on
9-30-2007.  They will continue to produce tapes for as long as there
is sufficient demand.

Do you have a link for this information?   All I found, was a story
dated 7/23/07 discussing Sony linking up with software vendor
Novastor.

I have on from a very good source that this refers only to SAIT-1.  SAIT-2 i
s still in production, although I think that Sony's Petasite is the only tap
e library using it.
