(user-style answer) Nothing, I swear!

(Factual answer): We had all this working when we played with dotproject, en
ding about a year ago. All we changed when we shelved dotproject was that we
took apmysqlup.ncf out of the cluster volume load script. Ap2webup stayed i
n as we've internal website
s for documentation. I suppose nw6.5sp6 has been applied since so maybe some
thig changed?

Here are a few suggestions:

Sounds like they may not be using a default install of phpMyAdmin (ie they
have installed a non-shipping version of phpMyAdmin). I guess it is also
possible that the installation was corrupted somehow as well.

He could try going back and re-install mysql through the products overlay
CD. Another, unsupported option, would be to block all write rights to the
configuration file (this would at least be a test to see if that got it
working).

Okay, reinstalled mysql then copied the whole folder (and the phpmyadmin fol
der) to the cluster volume.

I can now get as far as a login screen. How do I set up (or what is) the def
ault password? Tried modifying phpmyadmin\config.inc with no luck....

Sorry about this, my memory certainly isn't as retentive as it used to be...
.

Installing from the CD doesn't offer that choice (unless it inherits the NDS
password I put in to authenticate before the load). I even flushed out the
folder and installed into an empty one, just in case there was an old passwo
rd sitting there.

Googling tells me it's root and blank in the standard situation, but that's
not worked so far....
