I have a need to record a few lines, at all times.
Has anyone had good experiences with any sort of recorder for the cisco IP
phones (spec. 7940s and 7960s).
These are not POTS lines, so I can't place the recorder in front of the
gateway....the recorder would need to "sniff" the network for VOIP packets
and assemble them into recordings.

Thanks.

PS- I have been looking into CallReplay (call-replay.com) but am not sure
what else is out there.

If you're a 'roll your own' type of shop:
- run Asterisk and use it as your outbound/inbound gateway. Let it
open a second connection to the actual destination, and record
- base something on pcapsipdump
