I am attempting to install Commerce Server 2002 on a Windows 2003
server.. I ran through the install most of the way, and near the end
it failed with the error 1723: Windows Installer Package error.. It
backed everything out.. Upon other attempts to install it
immeadiately comes back with that same error..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Jeff,

That looks like a generic Microsoft Installer error message and I could
not find anything documented on it in regards to Commerce Server. Do you
have any other errors in your application event logs? Have you followed
the installation order from this link?

http://www.microsoft.com/commercese...002/Install.asp

Thanks

I was following that install order found in that link yes..

Well I'm not sure what was exactly wrong with that box... but later in
the day I had to re-boot the box and it ended up not booting into
Windows server. there was a message of a corrupt system file/folder.
So the box ended up getting wiped/reloaded. I was able to install
Commerce server after this without issue.

thx
