My Debian etch machine boots to a 1280x1024 framebuffer terminal. X does
not start automatically.

I've see	n several machines that have a graphic image in the background
of the terminal screen. I'd like to have this as well.

Unfortunately, all my Googling is turning up is grub splashscreens and
boot graphics that go away once the machine is at the username prompt.

What do I need to do to put an image in the background of my terminal?
