I'd suggest that in A5.5.8-1

A5.5.8-1 [JDO instances that have been detached from their
persistence manager and have not been
modified are detached-clean.] Detach is done by one of three ways:

The phrase "Detach is done by one of three ways" would read better as
"Detachment is done in one of three ways", as follows:
