I've been using TrueImage 10 on Vista laptop for 6 months or so and
have had no problems. I decided that I liked some of the new features
of version 11 so purchased a downloadable upgrade. Started the install
which went OK (except for a dialog box requesting me close some
applications, looks like someone forgot the resource strings, since
they had symbolic names).
Rebooted when requested. When systen had restarted I started TI only
to get a error box which said "Can't find previous serial number" or
words to that effect. So I uninstalled TI and started a fresh install.
Of course because this I'd purchased an upgrade it needed to know
about the previous version, so I was prompted to the previous version
serial number...which I couldn't find anywhere on my system. Luckily I
was able to retrieve it from the Acronis website as I had registered
version 10 previously.
Anyway I finally get it up and running and play around with it a bit,
seems OK. I create a my normal backup job, which will do a complete
backup at 3AM on Monday to a NAS. One option I didn't notice on the
previous version was the ability to "delay backup until idle". As I am
sometime still using my laptop at this time in the morning I thought I
would select this option. As it happens I was done by around 1AM and
so left the laptop switched on as normal doing nothing. When I checked
at around 8 this morning the backup hadn't started and had a status of
"Waiting" (presumeably for idle). So this option seems pretty
worthless, I had to start the backup manually.
