Feature navigator:
http://tools.cisco.com/ITDIT/CFN/jsp/index.jsp

J1S3-MZ = Enterprise Basic feature set. I'm fairly certain this doesn't
support VPN tunnels, but check the feature navigator to confirm.

Any image that supports cryptography will have K9 in the name.
c2600-j1s3-mz.123-23.bin does not, but this one does
c2600-jk9s-mz.123-23.bin.

You can find a lot of tools that can help you on Cisco.com, like the
software advisor and upgrade planner.

When the crypto maps says" invalid", that usually means the access list
referenced in the crypto map doesn't exist.
