What option should I set for a DMS-250?

 

 

1VG01(config)#isdn switch-type ?

  primary-4ess    Lucent 4ESS switch type for the U.S.

  primary-5ess    Lucent 5ESS switch type for the U.S.

  primary-dms100  Northern Telecom DMS-100 switch type for the U.S.

  primary-dpnss   DPNSS switchtype for Europe

  primary-net5    NET5 switch type for UK, Europe, Asia and Australia

  primary-ni      National ISDN Switch type for the U.S.

  primary-ntt     NTT switch type for Japan

  primary-qsig    QSIG switch type

  primary-ts014  TS014 switch type for Australia (obsolete)

I can vouch for the DMS100 setting working with a 250. That's what
our carrier uses.

In my experience its more important to ask the provider what protocol the
switch is runing rather then the actual switchtype. DMS250 to my knowledge
can run multiple protocols, NI2, 5ESS, NI1 (nortels NI1 = cisco DMS100), NI1
for the rest of the world is only a BRI protocol. If they give you the
option always go for Ni2...
