Does anyone have any detailed information about what the DMA actually does d
uring the validation process? It looks like i'm being able to take a backup
of all the information, but the validation is what fails when i'm trying to
run this utility......it errors out with some Database errors......i'm guess
ing it's creating a temp database and using the schema it would use in 5.x a
nd inserting the information into it as a 'test'? Do any of you have any inf
ormation on the actual process this takes? I've been messing with this for a
bout 2 weeks now and can't seem to successfully complete the DMA process....
.except for this time i'm stuck and don't know how to fix it......

Thanks,

Daniel Argueta

the errors are most likely errors in your database. in the DMA output it li
sts log files you need to retrive. collect those, zip them up, and attach t
o your TAC case.

what dma does:
1. if cm ver < 5.0 or < 4.2, then export windows database
2. import win database to ccm_w database in windows install of informix with
fkconstraints. error on any constraint failures
3. migrate ccm_w informix database to ccm database in informix in new cm6.x
schema.

Errors can occur at both steps 2 and 3.
