I'm in the mood to answer. Looking at your posts via Google Groups
search, I find it hard to believe you don't realize the only thing close
to this in Linux/Unix is something that searches for a rootkit. There's
nothing else in *nix that resembles the plague of spyware in Windows.

May be i do something wrong but i guess it would be better that you
explain what is top poster.
Moreover i am not a great expert in linux and may be my question is
stupid but it is no troll ; it is not my aim to pollute this newsgroup
that i really appreciate.
I think it would be more clever to explain me why my question is stupid
and why spyware do not exist in linux

Actually, there is at least a couple of xpi spyware extensions for mozilla
that have started turning up on the web. So far, they target the windows
platform versions, though there's nothing which prevents a malicious
extension from doing all sorts of nasty things on your system, even if its
only running in userspace. It's an attack vector that really hasn't been
exploited yet, but probably will as linux make more inroads into the home
desktop market.

Spyware is not an issue on linux systems, you would I wish to give such
programs permission to access the net, why would anyone do this!. I would
need very good reasons before allowing anything to be broadcast from my
system.

If you are thinking of using spyware in your own programs, then consider
reasearching opensource as an alternative, because I would not use any
program that broadcasts info about my system, its one reason why I use
linux.

Perhaps all this useless controversy is due to a problem in the way you made
the question: You wrote "spyware for linux" and, surely, you wanted to write
"anti-spyware software for linux". That is what I understood, and I think
that you don't have to be very clever to do so. My first language is not
english, and surely not yours as well. This should be remembered by the
others; We have to do double effort: Learn Linux and write in a different
language to stay in this newsgroup, that I like a lot and consider truly
helpfull. So, people, don't be so strict.
Top posting consists in writing the answer to a post on top of the original
one.

And while you're at it, just replace it with Xine. Although you will have to
keep the .so of the Real-codec...
