My current application has a number of portlets in one page.
The exception handling requirement is forcing me to display the main
content portlet to go SOLO state when an unexpected exception is
caught.

So far, all I can find is to generate URI for solo mode but nothing I
can find will allow portlet to trigger solo mode portal page render.

Can this be done?
