The school I work for has a web page that is about 250
MB. Front page keeps timing out on the upload. Any ideas
why? According to the ISP, Frontpage web sites shouldn't
be larger that 60 MB but I find that hard to believe.

Thanks

Jared

If you have a page of 250 MB no one will ever open it (-;

If you mean the FP web is 250 MB, then your ISP is sort of right
Although there is no specific limit on web size, usually large webs are brok
en down into smaller subweb (subsites) for easier
management, faster publishing, and to minimize the chances the server will t
ime out

Plus on some servers/versions of FP there is a limit of 1MB file size (caus
ed by recent service packs)

If your web has large or many relatively static media files driving the tota
l web size, consider putting them into a subweb. Also
consider breaking it up by content groupings

There are some constraints of subwebs:
- they are unique webs and do not share web common features like include pag
es, shared borders, web parameters or navigation (which
you have to set up in each), and require external links to other subwebs or
the root web

To learn how to convert a large web to subwebs see
