Hi everyone,
Ive recently bought (second hand) an ADIC Scalar 218m (single DLT7000).
Unfortunately it has 2 problems with it that are proving to be a real pain.
First of all when turning it on sometimes it wont initialise properly (the
first part where the code is downloaded to the motion CPU goes fine but when
it comes to calibrate the picker it hangs) giving an error code of '2A' on
the LCD. Looking at the manual that error code means 'No response from
Picker'. Second problem is when it does boot up/initialise properly it will
sometimes not load a tape from one of its slots properly. It will grab the
tape but fail to move it all the way into the picker, the picker will move
off and the tape still being half in the slot will stop it dead and jam it
creating a horrendous noise.

I have tried re-flashing the firmware via the serial port and this has still
made no difference and under any other circumstances I would return the
machine for a refund, however, I really do like this autoloader and since I
know I wont find a second hand one about again I would like to try and hang
on to it. I have contacted ADIC support who are going to get back in
contact with me but I was wondering do any of you guys have any suggestions
as to whats wrong with it?? Maybe the picker needs replacing?? Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Wills : )
