Hello,
Assuming that you have Anonymous access enabled and the Anonymous user has
necessary NTFS permissions on the content, it could be possible that there
is some other issue with the account:
1) Check Event logs for any warnings or errors to find out what the problem
is
2) Confirm that the IUSR_machinename account (used for Anonymous access) is
not disabled or locked out
3) Confirm the IUSR account still has the necessary user rights as per
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;271071 (Policies
section)
4) Reset the IUSR account's password following steps in
http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;297989 (Method 2 is
easier)
5) If none of the above help, check the IIS logs to find out what error is
being logged when anonymous access fails. Or turn off all other
authentication methods on the website except anonymous and then browse the
site. Be sure to go to Internet explorer-> Tools-> Internet Options->
Advanced-> uncheck Show friendly http error messages, close and reopen the
browser. You should see the Http error code indicating why Anonymous
acccess failed.
Hope this helps!!
