The *.idq file for my search is missing your search
form.
Well so far I have Server Extensions configured and
running and Index run on the published site which is
different from the folder I am working on.
There are no files under the _vti_script diretory
so it doesnt work keeps giving me the following error

"FrontPage Run-Time Component Page
You have submitted a form or followed a link to a page
that requires a web server and the FrontPage Server
Extensions to function properly.

This form or other FrontPage component will work
correctly if you publish this web to a web server that
has the FrontPage Server Extensions installed.

Click the <Back> arrow to return to the previous page."
Any Help
Hollis D. Paul I followed everything I said I need to get
this working urgently FP2003 is so much harder to work
with compared to earlier versions of FP why is that?

There are times when the host deletes the .idq file for security reasons.
Ask your host if they have done so.

The search component will only work when published to a server.

This would indicate that the form you are working on is in a disk-based
web, so no, there will be no search results, and no there will be no
.idq file in the _vti_script folder.

Usually, one publishes ones file-based web to the "personal" web server
on the workstation, and then publishes from that web site to the site
that is hosted by an ISP on the internet. This is what I thought you
had done. And, perhaps is what you should do, if you want to test the
working of the form before you publish it to the internet site.

But, what you can do right now, presuming that you have Indexing
running on the workstation that holds the disk based web, is
right-click the MyComputer icon, choose Manage, then the services
folder. Expand the Services folder, and double-click the Indexing
Service. Now, open the search folder there, and fill in the paramaters
and it should find the pages you are looking for.

Hi
yes I tested I am going to have to wait till I change
the DNS to point to my new host to get the search working
live. one question is on the search it brings up results
that i dont want it to show how can I modify that with FP?
i.e like the .js files
is there an option i only want it to show .asp or .html
and .pdf files

1. Try placing the files that you don't want included in a folder that begin
s with a underscore
character, and not the _private folder.

2. If the above doesn't work, then you would have to use a ASP based search
solution, in which case
you will need to post the Index Server newsgroup.

The restrictions parameter, in the .idq file, is usually used to
exclude folders, but can also be used to exclude file types.
