I'm trying to send a Flat File to my BizTalk channel, map it to XML, then ap
ply it to my EDI X12 850 specification. Is this possible?? I can process t
he flat file, but the end result file is not in proper EDI format. Any sugg

Hi

I want to make sure I have understood you scenario:

You are receiving a flatfile, and your receive function sends it into
a channel. In the channel you have a map, that transforms the file
into an EDI format. Right?

What format is the output in, since it is not proper EDI format? If it
is XML, then you probably forgot to use an EDI envelope in your
messaging port.
