We are planning deployment of Biztalk 2004 and willbe using BAM. What is the
recommendation for use of Biztalk 2004 and SQL services and databses for ru
n from another server?

Is it better to install and run SQL on same server as Biztalk installation?
What are the general recommendations? (outside of the white papers minimal r
equirements)

We are a small business currently using Sterling as VAN and receive orders f
orms oour venders once a daily throught POP3 mailbox

Thanks

Hi

It is very difficult to say without knowing more details.

You state that you will be receiving orders once a day. Does this mean
that there can be many orders in the mail and after you process them,
there can go a day before anything happens again? Then it doesn't
sound like you need to put BizTalk Server and SQL Server on seperate
boxes. The load wont be that high.

In general, you get faster communication between BizTalk and SQL
Server if they are on the same server, but if BizTalk is receiving
many documents, then the load will be to big, and you need to divide
them.
