'Never could find 7.04, but "David" at Symantec did finally
reply, giving me detailed instructions on how to get it (400MB!)
from their ftp site.

BUT -- while waiting for his reply, my 7.03 did a full backup two
nights ago
to DVD+RWs on my made-for-Dell, NEC ND2100A. The second failure I
had experienced attempting this before occurred on the exact same
disk, exact same point in the process, so it must have been bad
media.

To test erased media generally on DI7, I used two "full erased"
disks and two new disks. It happily wrote and verified all four
and made an image I could browse and run an MP3 from. So long as
you use "Full erase" it seems OK.

will be released generally soon.
