I did a net install of 9.1 over 9.0 on Intel SuSE and yast2 isn't coming
up. I get the error "Could not open
/usr/share/YaST2/config/y2cc.groups". When I do a "rpm -ql yast2" for
the new yast2-2.9.60-5 this file isn't in the rpm. It is in the rpm for
the old yast2-2.8.31-20 though. Why is this file not in the distribution?

It's been said a thousand times over in here: It's better to do a
wipe/install of a new release than to upgrade over an existing release. You
sometimes get unwanted results unless you completely wipe out the old and
put in the new. Backup first, of course. :o)

The manual said to install Windows 2000 or better...
So I installed SuSE Linux 9.1!

Does 'yast' work for you at the (text) console? If yes, try to remove
YaST2 packages and reinstall them using 'yast'.

Otherwise erase using 'rpm -e packagename' and do a 'SuSEconfig'.

Then reinstall the same package. The config directory in question does not
exist in 9.1 anymore.

HTH.
