We have several BT2004 dev boxes each in a seperate BT
server group. Does each BT server need to be a single sign
on master server? Is there a way of not using single sign
on? Many thanks

Hi,

A BizTalk server installation always require SSO and you need have a master
secret server. You can setup multiple BizTalk server with one master secret
server, but still each BizTalk server need to have SSO runtime on each
machine. BizTalk store its secure configuration information in SSO so that
it could be secure since some port information contains secret information
such as password.

In a single machine scenario such as a developer's box, users must setup
master secret server on the box because a master secret server is required
to install BizTalk server correctly.

BTW I'm curious why you want to avoid inatalling master secret server on
the dev machine. Did it cause some slowness? Or is it just because you
think you don't need SSO? If it is later one, you actually need as I
described above. BizTalk stores its configuration information in SSO
database.

Thanks,
Sunghwa
