I have uninstalled and installed it and the .NET framework several times. I
can not view any pages and the default is in the WWWROOT folder.

I have followed all the advice I have seen so far, including removing IPV6 a

Hello,
This is more of a COM+ issue and it would be a good idea to start off with
their group. Try posting your question to

Hi!

I have the exact same problem. I just installed my system again this
weekend, from an XP SP1 integrated installation CD (I got it with my
notebook). I installed IIS, .NET, all updates from Windows Update. And then
this happens, a myriad of different errors from IIS, which can be traced
back to COM+.

I cannot event open the Component Services, because COM+ System Application
dies right away. Starting the service results in the same error.

Hi!

I had the same problem. It can be solved by reinstalling COM+. For some
reason, the COM+ installation get's corrupted. If you try starting the COM+
Service Application for example (at least in Windows XP), it will crash
right away, and you will get more errors in the system log.

There is also a thread on a forum about this problem.

http://www.tek-tips.com/gviewthread.../787/qid/758414

But you can jump straight away to reinstalling COM+. Follow any of these
directions:

http://support.microsoft.com/defaul...kb;en-us;315296
http://www.jsiinc.com/SUBN/tip6900/rh6951.htm

One thing to keep in mind, that a recent hotfix has updated COM+. This is
KB828741. This causes trouble, when you try to follow the instructions, and
reinstall COM+, because it tries to reinstall from the original XP CD, and
some components are not compatible on the system with components on the CD.

So, first, remove this update, if you have it installed. Then follow the
instructions to reinstall COM+. Then you can reapply the update. After that,
you will still need to reinstall IIS (and reregister ASP.NET), but it should
work ok.

BTW, other errors, that might indicate you have this problem. In
Administrative Tools -> Component Services, the Component Services tab
cannot be opened. It tries to start COM+ service, which crashes.

Hope this helps

-Artur
