Hi,

We have a development web server running IIS 5.0 that we have been using
on a daily basis for a few years now. It has gone through hardware
upgrades, and other software upgrades including Front Page Extensions
2002 (sharepoint mess), and the latest VStudio updates. This server
houses our intranet with VSS integration. We all work in master mode
through Interdev.

Recently, over the last few days, we have seen horrendous performance
trying to do even the simplist tasks, such as creating a new file in
Interdev. This is occurring on all our machines, so I know it's nothing
to do with a certin Interdev install. Interdev will sit at "Adding file
<filename> to Web..." for over a minute!

We have tested the VSS explorer on the machine itself, and it behaves as
expected, with good performance. When we use Interdev against another
web, not under source control, it works well, also.

So, there is something awry with our FP Exts + VSS integration that is
causing us grief. It is making it almost impossible to get work done.

We aren't expecting a solution, since that would be tooo convenient, but
anyone with sugggestions on where to look or traces we can turn on that
would pintpoint the slowdown would be incredibly helpful.

Best regards,
-Sean
